Filing a Claim Under GAF Warranty

GAF is known for using high-quality materials and taking great care in constructing its homes. All of this, however, does not shield them from all the problems that can occur. As with any manufacturer or contractor, there will always be instances where a problem arises, and you would like to get it taken care of. That is why a GAF warranty is a valuable asset to have.

About GAF Warranty

GAF warranties are third-party warranties that protect your home from manufacturer defects during the first few years of ownership.

You qualify for a GAF warranty once you use their construction material. It is important to understand what is covered under the GAF warranty and how you can file a claim. GAF warranty covers all of the shingles and underlayment products they produce. If any of their materials are faulty, they will repair or replace them free of charge.

There are three types of GAF roofing system warranties. GAF offers residential and commercial warranties, as well as custom warranties. All three come with a fifty-year limited transferability.

The GAF warranty covers installation and labor costs. If there is a problem with your roof installation, GAF will repair or replace it free of charge. This includes improper application and failure to apply shingles under the manufacturer’s instructions.

Warranty coverage for labor costs associated with repairing or replacing defective materials for up to ten years after their initial installation.

When you have issues with your GAF roof, ensure you have a copy of your installation certificate, which certifies that the roof was installed by an accredited professional. This will help you in the claim process.

Local professional roofing contractors handle most of the actual construction and installation of GAF roofs. As such, the contractor is far more likely to handle all types of repairs, which include patching, replacing, and installing items that have been damaged.

Contractors must provide a contract that all customers sign before constructing the roof. This is done to ensure everyone involved has all the project details in plain language, so no one is confused when issues arise.

How to File a Claim Under GAF’s Warranty Service

GAF roofing manufacturer warranty service is the most important part of having a permanently installed roof. It gives you the peace of mind that if your roof should ever leak, burn, or otherwise get damaged for any reason, your repair is guaranteed. The best part about GAF warranties are their ability to have a claim approved for reimbursement in one day and a free replacement warranty for life.

1. Contact a GAF Authorized Warranty Contractor

If you are unsure whether or not your roof qualifies for a GAF warranty, contact the GAF Authorized Contractor in your area, who can inspect and confirm your situation. There is no cost for this service.

Contractors will inspect for any possible underlying causes, assess the damage, and provide their opinion if replacement is needed. If the claim is approved, you will be contacted by a GAF representative to schedule an appointment for your roof replacement

GAF advises contacting them as soon as possible after noticing any damage. You should call within 48 hours of noticing your roof damage or potential leaks.

2. Schedule an Inspection by a GAF Authorized Contractor

Once a responsible roof contractor has verified the damage, they will contact you to schedule an inspection with GAF for your roof replacement. This inspection is free and is the only obligation that GAF will be under for the life of your roof.

3. Receive a Roof Replacement or Repair

GAF, at this point, will go over all details of the replacement process. The contractor will confirm the damaged roof and begin the installation of a new roof on your property.

Schedule a Roof Consultation

Contact GAF directly and ask them to send out a local contractor to conduct a detailed inspection of your roof. They should provide you with a service address where the contractor will be able to reach you as well as any contact information that you might need. The GAF representative should be able to tell you when the inspection will take place and what the proper procedure for scheduling an appointment is.
